2024 Comprehensive Plan Periodic Update Status

At a public hearing that concluded September 18, 2024, the Federal Way Planning Commission voted to recommend adoption of the Comprehensive Plan Periodic Update to City Council. The Comprehensive Plan will move forward to the Land Use and Transportation Committee (LUTC) for discussion on October 7 and November 4, 2024. An LUTC action, on moving the Comprehensive Plan ordinance forward to the full City Council, is anticipated at the November 4 LUTC meeting.

    While engaging with the general public, ad hoc committee, community organizations, and others to gather input and feedback for preparing a draft Vision Statement for Update 2024, we have found there to be some reoccurring themes and terms in what we are hearing.

    To make sure we best understand the intent of these words, we want your help in defining what livable means to you and the future of Federal Way.
